MotorSports - Big Red - Brake Calipers, New Rotors & Pads!!!
I
have seen this too many times, the clear coat paint on some Big
Red Brake Calipers starts
to chip & peel over time. I recently had the opportunity to
fix this problem for one of my
customers. First, I had to remove & clean the calipers before
spraying a new coat of high
temp. clear coat paint. It is critical that the calipers are very,
very clean and that all the old
clear coating that is coming off the caliper be removed.
New
Zimmerman Cross Drilled Rotors replace the old rotors. I painted
the rotor hats inside
and out with Cold Galvanizing Compound. Then I painted the outside
of the rotor hat with a
high temp. engine or caliper paint. I will always apply tape to
the inside of the rotors where
the e-brake contacts the rotor to keep from painting the e-brake
surface. Enjoy the photos.
