1994 Honda Civic EX - Civic TypeR Project Driver's Education Car

All of the modifications to the car have been performed by Gilson MotorSports, State Certified in several areas. With the purpose of building a track car that can out run a larger more powerful car.

It started with a friend of mine that was selling his wife's '94 Honda Civic EX. I had told him in the past that I would purchase the car from him and turn it into a track car. He was always laughing at me and said that it would not be very fast. Not something you want to say, because I will try to prove you wrong. With that, I purchased the car with the intentions of making a reliable, turn on a dime race car that could make the other driver's wonder why they had purchased that Porsche instead if a Civic.

I must tell the truth, I am a true Porsche Enthusiasts. I sold a 1984 911 Carrera, that was my previous track car. The 911 has a lot more to offer then the Civic has and ever will. The big change from rear engine, rear drive to front engine, front wheel drive is the weight distribution of the two. I have found it interesting that the 911 takes a lot more out of the driver then the Civic. The 911 is more rewarding to the driver then the Civic is but, I could driver all day on the track without getting exhausted in the Civic.
